About Us
The Chair Place is a San Francisco based retailer of ergonomic office chairs. We have been operating in Northern California since 1990. We currently have a retail showroom located in San Francisco, California. We have over one hundred ergonomic, mesh and executive chairs on display for customers to try out. We are experienced in assisting customers in choosing the appropriate chair. Our chairs in the showroom range in price from $200 to $1800.

Methods of payment:
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards.
We accept purchase orders from the City and County of San Francisco and State of California government agencies.
Return Policy – Web site only
All furniture returns must be preapproved and have a return authorization number assigned. We will send you a ship to address. You must contact us within 30 days of delivery.
Returns must be shipped in their original carton with their original packing material. The items must be in the same condition as they were when you received them. Credit will be issued upon return and inspection of items.
Freight damage must be reported to the freight carrier. We can generally send you the parts needed to replace any damaged items.
All return charges are the customer's responsibility – including round trip freight and a customary manufacturer restocking charge.
Special order (non-stock) items are not returnable.
Warranties
Most furniture companies offer replacement parts in the case of defects for several years at no cost to you. Manufacturer warranties do not cover wear and tear or abuse and do not include service calls or on-site labor. If you have any questions please contact us by email.
The Chair Place is not responsible for typographical errors. Prices are subject to change without notice.
Sales Tax
The Chair Place collects sales tax for California residents because we maintain a physical presence in that state. We do not collect sales or use taxes for other states. Payment of any such tax is the responsibility of the customer.
Cancellations
If your order has shipped or is in production we will be unable to cancel your order. Please see the return policy for any such items you receive. We will confirm all cancellation requests by email.
Shipping Policy
The Chair Place offers free shipping on all chairs shipped in the contiguous United States. We do not ship outside of that area. Free shipping is curbside or to your loading dock. Customers are responsible for unloading from the delivery truck to their premises. We do not offer assembly or installation services.
Lead times vary by manufacturers, type of item, and color. Average production lead time is 15 working days. Shipping time will depend on your location. Manufacturer delays may extend lead times in some cases.
Your credit card will be charged at the time of your order through Paypal. After receiving and processing your order we will send you an acknowledgement. Paypal will furnish you with documentation on the credit card payment.
Privacy Policy
The Chair Place is committed to protecting your personal information and privacy. The Chair Place will not sell our customer lists to any company for any reason. You can be assured we will protect your privacy
